Takeaway from the 2017 IHG® Conference

On June 19-21, the 2017 IHG® Americas Conference was held at The Venetian, The Palazzo (InterContinental Alliance Resorts) and The Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Featuring a gathering of owners, managers, and suppliers, the conference was an opportunity to become immersed in brand innovations and shared ideas.

With the announcement of their new midscale brand and much talk of IHG hotel property improvements, there was plenty to take in over the course of the three-day event. The conference made it clear that staying current and moving forward is an objective, whether through redesign or other updates.

While this growth-driven mindset isn’t a surprise by any means, we noted one crucial shift in the way owners view hotel reconstruction.

The Days of DIY Hotel Projects Are Declining

The way owners are approaching property improvements is changing.

Today’s hoteliers are recognizing the value of working with professionals who can manage the project from start to finish.

As hotel owners become more familiar with the complexities that go into a renovation, DIY hotel projects are quickly becoming a thing of the past. The “I can’t do this myself” realization isn’t one of defeat, however.

Instead, it’s empowering. A hotel redesign has many moving parts and can require a lot of heavy lifting, after all. With DIY renovations, especially, owners tend to wear themselves thin juggling the responsibilities of hotel ownership and hotel project management all at once. Which is why there is such a benefit to handing off your project to an expert hospitality firm.

"In our industry, selecting the right design and procurement team plays a vital role. We were thrilled when Innvision and their team visualized the design and implemented the new Formula Blue package which resulted in a vibrant and fresher look for our hotel. That was not only beyond our expectations but the expectation for our IHG Colleagues." – Noman Qamar, Integrated Hotel Solutions

At Innvision Hospitality, we are proud to be an IHG-Approved supplier and one of the few hospitality firms to provide professional, design-driven purchasing services at every phase of a project:
